I got up this morning to see the UK decided to leave the EU and Donald Trump’s first interview from Scotland included a promo spot for his new golf course.
The world is freaking pear shaped right now. It blows my mind. It shouldn’t… but it does.
Over here in Graylin land, I’m working on the second Contessa story. It’s tentatively titled I Do, But First… It will release this November. If I finish it earlier, I’ll change the date during the pre-order process.
Arcane Court – For those of you waiting for the fourth book Fanged Deception, it will release this December. Each full length novel of this series comes out a week or two before Halloween.
If you missed it earlier this year, I am now an official member of the Horror Writer’s Association. I’m still giddy about that. It’s the first, and only, professional association I’ve joined. I’m hoping to make it to the convention next year (StokerCon).
This fall, I’ll be appearing at the Indie Book Fest in Orlando October 7-9th. It’s a lovely convention, smaller with a lot more interaction. I hope to see you there!
That’s about it for this week. I’ve been swamped at my day job. Which is fabulous and I’m grateful there are people who trust me with their fragile pain so they can heal.
Off to write more fights!
You can’t beat this morning view.
This month I’ve been simplifying my life. Actually, it started a couple years ago, but I’ve kicked it into gear.
I’m moving at the beginning of next year, and I’m downsizing. I don’t need the excess furniture, or rooms that are rarely used. I had much less stress in my life when I live comfortably in a one bedroom place with a great view. I’ll be going from a 3/2 to a 2/2 (I need one room for bookshelves *koff*) with a beach view (all hail Florida – yes, I love the odd).
I used ThredUP to donate some of the better handbags, totes, clothes, and shoes that only took up space. I can’t walk in heels anymore. I wear size 5 – it’s a challenge on my best days.
Today, it has taken a turn toward my writing life. I’m donating blank/empty journals and notebooks. I have clients who love to write (they don’t know what I do on the side) – one is 10 yrs old.
I feel lighter already. 🙂
I’ll be at Florida SuperCon at the Miami Beach Convention Center June 25th – 28th.
I own Dark Fantasy Press and will be in that booth space #1927. I will have some books to sign with me, including the Candy Man Delivery Series paperback with all six stories in it! It came out to 300 pages in paperback. Wooo!!
I’ll have some of my Rane Sjodin books as well as copies of Contessa to sign. I’ll bring cover cards, business cards, and some book marks.
Come on down to the sun and say hello!
Graylin Rane Fox / Rane Sjodin
In the next three weeks, Contessa will be available in paperback at Amazon.com through Createspace. I’m also looking at the paperback/hardcover options at Nookpress.
The paperback cover is amazing. Thanks to Syneca Featherstone for her amazing work.
The book is in review at Createspace. It will be on sale for $9.99. The reason for the high price, which I wouldn’t hike up if I didn’t have to – is in the graphic below. Amazon insists a book of 366 page be AT LEAST $8.74. In order for me to make 75 cents a book, it’s at $9.99.
Releasing October 15, 2014 is the 5th in the Candy Man Delivery series.
Ava’s skills as a chef took her from private celebrity chef to owner of Miami’s hottest new restaurant. Shy since kindergarten, she expressed her passions in the kitchen. Loneliness lowered her shoulders as the accolades faded at closing each night. At thirty-three, she was still single, preferring a crowded kitchen to a man across a small table.
Her brother signed her up with Viviana, owner of The Candy Man Delivery Service. She’d been appalled until he showed her the picture of Viviana’s man, Adonis. Her anxiety quelled each day by a furious work schedule then ran rampant over her mind as she tried to sleep.
Exhausted and shaking, she opens her condo door to find Marcus with caramel colored skin, dark hair, and intense brown eyes. He helps her bloom as she experiences complete devotion for the first time in her life.
