I started this science fiction WIP a year ago and it’s almost complete. I’m hoping to get it into my CP by the end of this year. Deadly Beauty is the name of the ship and today we meet her Captain.
Mai sat in the captain’s chair of the departing ship and watched it all pass below her. Long white hair settled around her shoulders while faint green arms rested on the captain’s chair. Her thoughts flowing through her mind into the vines connecting her to the controls. As the sun set behind her, the shadow from the rising ship glided over the forest. The moving shadow met with silent hopes Mai carried with her. The smallest of her kind struggled to survive in the increasing temperatures.

Oh, I love this! It’s different and hopeful, but there’s sadness and so much to drive the story already.
